My Kindle keeps freezing up. If I try to reset it, it gets half way through the process, then freezes again. Plugging it into the computer for a while and then trying again has worked a few times, but within a few hours, it freezes again. Annoyingly, it's just over a year old, so out of warranty. Looking online, it seems as if buying a new one is the only real option when Kindles fail, though Amazon might give me a discount for this. I'll have to contact them tonight and see what they say. Pellinor, meanwhile, has lost his new Kindle after just a month, either on the ferry or in a tapas bar, so it's not been a very good few days for Kindles in our house.

In completely unrelated news, I noticed today that the "Healthy Choice" version of Co-op's own brand natural yogurt is higher per 100g in calories, fat, saturated fat and sugar than the regular, non-healthy version. The pot is the same size, too. How can this be?

Has it been put in a new case or is it in a case that has been damaged? Mine did this a lot and it turned out to be the zip of the (not for purpose) case I had bought. It now lives in a different (zip free) case and works like a charm (why yes, I am touching wood.

I would write to the Co-op and ask about the yogurt - how bizarre.

I haven't actually got round to getting a case or cover for my Kindle, although I keep meaning to.

As for the yogurt, I think I was probably comparing the "healthy" version of Greek-style yogurt with the regular version of the non-Greek-style natural yogurt, thus explaining the difference.

I have occasionally emailled them about things like 'my local branch puts basil in the fridge and it goes all wilty from the cold, can you stop them doing this?*' and it seems to work really well.

* I had already twice mentioned this to people in the shop and got the 'not my problem' face. One email via the magic form, and shop was reorganised within days to put the basil in a comfortably warm spot.

Actually, I think I might have been comparing the "healthy" version of the Greek style yogurt with the regular version of the natural, non-Greek (barbarian?) yogurt. They were next to each other, so I assumed one was the "healthy" version of its neighbour, but apparently not.

You should always treat your basil well. You never know when you'll need to take it with you on voyages into space.
