On Friday afternoon, our photocopier got "jammed" - i.e. it refused point blank to copy any more, it made a horrible noise, even though no sign of a jam could be seen. I was an hour late home from work as a result of this.

This morning, it was still telling the same story. So now we have an emergency photocopier engineer here... and as soon as he entered the door, the thing started working perfectly, not even the slightest sign of a problem. Grr!

Sounds very familiar, our old photocopier used to to that all the time. Our printer does the a similar thing too, it says it has a paper jam, so you investigate and remove the offending article. Press reset and put it back on line and it will flash paper jam at you again, you open it up again to make sure all the paper has been removed shut it up again and press the relevant sequence of buttons then it'll print one page and say paper jam again. Only it's extreme bulk and weight has prevented it taking a trip out of the window so far.... I have however found out that the solution to this annoying problem is after removing the jammed paper do the old stand-by of switch it off and the on again - that and swearing at it a lot in the hope my boss will give us a new one :-)
