Preloved animals are the saddest ones. You take in a dog that lived in a shed and he is all 'Hey! suddenly my life is AWESOME!!!' which is just fun, whereas the ones that are really preloved you often have to rebuild their lives with them without ever being able to explain and that's much sadder.
