Fabulous pictures, all of them! The 15th century gateway is perhaps my favourite - it really does look like it's still guarded by quite a motley bunch of men, dogs and lions.
Those fumeroles do look remarkably entertaining - such a shame we don't have them in this country, though I suppose it's worth it not to have to worry about eruptions and pyroclastic flow...
