On the front page of our intranet, there's a noticeboard section for staff, which is usually filled with various things for sale. Today, the top entry was from someone asking if there were any pilates or yoga classes in the area. "Pilates/yoga" read the heading.
Now, I'm sure I don't need to tell you what I misread this as when I saw it out of the corner of my eye. Would yoga calm pirates, do you think, and make them see the error of their ways? Would they find their roistering urge disappearing, replaced by a zen-like calm? Or would a canny captain use yoga to improve performance, with stances called things like, "the slaughtering avenger," and "the intimidating gloat?"
