Spiders have generally only mastered two dimensions. Cranefly have the full set of three dimensions to come at you from, which is what makes them fearsome (as well as the shoddy workmanship of their legs.)
Oh! Honeycat has just wandered in and solved the situation in a brutal but pragmatic fashion: by eating the culprit. And - ick! - she now has cranefly legs stuck to her chin.
