"Quiche Lorraine" has always seemed to me to be bacon-and-egg pie with a foreign accent.
The Hitchcock film "To Catch A Thief", set in the South of France in the 50s: Cary Grant (Frenchman): "Have some of this, it's called Quiche Lorraine." Visiting Englishman: "Oh yes, I've heard of that."
