Indeed. The information board very grudgingly admits that Dover is older, but makes a much bigger deal about it being the oldest medieval one. Another noticeboard, placed in a spot from which you can just see all three lighthouses (medieval, 18th century and modern) is very proud of the fact that this is probably the only spot in Britain, if not Europe, or maybe the world, where you can see such a historical continuum of lighthouses.
