I seem to be in a fairly sheltered spot, yes, though there are a few small branches on the roads, and once into Oxford Woodstock Road seemed to be lined with substantial portions of tree lying on the pavement.

I've come back this evening to find a message from my sister saying that my parents' flight from Heathrow to Newcastle was cancelled today, so they are still in London. They were relieved as several planes were still taking off but being visibly blown about in the air.
